Not A Beginning Knitter Anymore...

FISH!!!

Okay, I have two whole fish completed and another one on needles....  And, for all you nay-sayers out there, I have calculated how many fish I need total  :)  Strap on your seatbelt for this one....  If I want to knit a 32"x40" blanket, I only need 160 fish!!  ROFLMAO!  That means I literally will have to knit one fish per day and then sew them together during some sort of time warp experience.  The best part is, I am so not even discouraged by this!  The first two fish were completed in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in the colorway, Gold Hill.  The one on needles now is also Shepherd Sport (as I am expecting them all to be) and it is in the Irving Park colorway.  I also have some Tuscany, some Baltic Sea and some Watercolors.  I am definitely set up to stave off boredom!!  So, two fishies down, 158 to go!  Here is a photo of the first two to tide everyone over until all 160 are done.  Oh, and I can hear you all laughing, but I have this UNDER CONTROL!!

The Bag Challenge (that is definitely a challenge!)

Honest to God, I don't know what gets into me.  I can only think I am truly mostly insane.  I have this uncanny knack for finding the MOST difficult patterns totally accidentally.  The even funnier part of this talent is the part where I always think they look easy.  So, for the Knitwitz Bag Challenge* I found a pattern that looked WAY cool!  It is a variation of double knitting forming pockets alternately on the inside and outside of the bag.  Uh huh.......  first of all it is like knitting up a porcupine.  I am using two sets of circulars- one for the inside and one for the outside.  Second of all, the yarn has to criss cross repeatedly and I don't even want to count how many times the yarn has wound up where it didn't belong and I have had to go back a repeat to fix it.  Third of all, I finally figured it out and had it under control last night and somehow, I GAINED AN EXTRA STITCH!!!!!  WTF?????  So, the bag is on a brief break while I work on the baby sweater.

*Knitwitz Bag Challenge- The bag challenge is a challenge for a few different reasons.  It is a timed challenge.  It is also a creativity challenge.  Each participant was allowed one skein of silver grey lamb's pride worsted and one other skein of lamb's pride worsted plus one skein of anythink of our choosing.  We could pick our yarns up on May 15 and the projects are due back for judging on June 15.
